Dr. Yiming Xiao is a dedicated professional in OLED display technology, bringing both technical expertise and a thoughtful approach to market expansion. Since joining Visionox in 2018 as a New Technology Engineer focused on AMOLED displays, Dr. Xiao has progressed to lead a cross-functional innovation team as R&D Director, where he works on advancing OLED technologies, including Visionox’s ViP Technology. In 2023, he additionally took on the role of General Manager for Visionox America Inc., helping establish the company’s presence in the U.S. and support its international growth.
Dr. Xiao combines his background in R&D with a practical focus on technology application and commercialization. Prior to his time at Visionox, he served as Procurement Manager at China National Chemical Corporation in Beijing, specializing in new chemical sourcing, and as Business Development Manager for CITIC Group in Angola.
Dr. Xiao earned his Ph.D. in Materials Physics and Chemistry from Sorbonne University in Paris, France and later conducted postdoctoral research in organic semiconductors at CERC (CNRS-Ewha International Research Center) in Seoul, South Korea.
Dr. Michael Hack, is Vice-President of Business Development at Universal Display Corporation. He is responsible for developing and commercializing advanced high efficiency next generation OLED products, with a special focus on flexible display applications and solid-state lighting. Prior to joining UDC in 1999, he was associated with dpiX, a Xerox Company, where he was responsible for manufacturing flat panel displays and digital medical imaging products based on amorphous silicon TFT technology. Dr. Hack received his Ph. D. degree from Cambridge University, England in 1981 and in 2007 Dr. Hack was elected a Fellow of the Society for Information Display. In 2014 Dr. Hack was nominated to serve on the board of the U.S. OLED Lighting Coalition to promote the advancement and commercialization of OLED lighting.
Neetu Chopra has been working in the OLED display field for the last 14+ years. She currently works at Apple as an Emerging Display Technologist. Before Apple she worked at Kateeva for six years where she helped to commercialize TFE inkjet printing for AMOLED displays and led the team for pixel printing for displays. In her role she extensively collaborated with display manufacturers as well as material vendors to execute DEMOs as well as evaluate new materials/applications for inkjet technology. Before Kateeva she worked at Plextronics where she was part of the device team establishing test vehicles and methodologies for qualifying OLED materials. Dr. Chopra holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Polymer Science and Chemical Technology from Delhi College of Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Florida at Gainesville. She is active in display community as a committee member of the Society of Information Displays (SID) and OLED association.
With more than three decades of experience, Homer is an accomplished product development engineer, a forward-thinking technology leader, and an effective communicator. He has successfully managed and developed hardware products across diverse industries, including displays, lighting, consumer electronics, photovoltaics, and advanced materials. He currently leads Vermio Consulting, his own firm, making significant contributions to industry success and driving innovation. Additionally, Homer serves as a Board Advisor and Director for several startup companies.
During his tenure as the Chief Technology Officer at Nanosys, a distinguished display technology company, Homer played a pivotal role in advancing Quantum Dot and microLED technology for displays. His work has been instrumental in driving innovation and progress within the field.
Homer's professional journey has taken him through several prominent companies, such as ISF Incubator, Kateeva, DuPont, Innovalight, Osram, HP, and Xerox, where he held various leadership positions. Additionally, he has served on numerous national and international boards, further broadening his industry knowledge and expertise.
Originally from Greece, Homer earned his Ph.D. in solid-state physics from Syracuse University. With an extensive publication record and over 50 patents, Homer demonstrates a continuous commitment to innovation and progress in his field.
As managing director of the OLED Association, Barry Young addresses such issues as the development of industry standards for OLED display and lighting, promotion of the technology and the resolution of industry-wide technical issues. He serves as CEO of Young Market Research, where he produces a comprehensive report on the LED supply chain, characterizing the 100+ LED producers in terms of reactors, wafers, die capacity, yielded die and die revenue. The report featured an analysis of the MOPCVD tool makers. He is also working with a group of suppliers to establish the first US-based manufacturer for OLED lighting. Barry was a featured speaker at the16th CLSA Investors’ Forum and the World Knowledge Forum in Korea. A founder and longtime principal, senior advisor and consultant with research firm DisplaySearch, Young is a leading authority on OLEDs and flexible displays, has visited and consulted with most OLED manufacturers around the world. Young’s work has been published in many technical journals and he has spoken extensively around the world about the display industry.
